It’s about time I do this again for you guys. What would you like to see?
Elie Saab will forever be one of my favourite designers. His work is always complete with elegance, femininity and a so much detail. There is also something enchanting about that leaves me in complete wonderment. I thought I would discuss a few of my favourites from is Fall 2014 Couture collection.
I am complete in love with the transition of colour and pattern in this dress. It begins with beautiful florals blush and red florals with notes of gray and blue, that progresses to neutral colours, then finally into fall blues and grays. Florals in these colours are not often seen in fall, however the transition of colour throughout the dress balances this risk. The fitted, low neck bodice and belt, creates an elegant shape contrast to the full lux skirt. I love the way that texture is created through the pattern of the skirt of the gown.
The bodice of the dress is incredible similar to the last. However the skirt is a layered with beautiful light salmon fabric. The transition of colour in this dress is created through detailing from the bodice to the skirt. I particularly love the way the the detailing of the dress feathers out as it flows down the skirt. Once again a simple thin belt is added that creates a stronger contrast in the shape between the bodice and skirt.
There is something so effective about the way the he has used different shade of blue in his last few collections. This collection is no exception. The high sheer neck and detailed sleeves create a stunning elegance. I love the way that the detailing of the dress is angled. This gives almost a one shouldered effect at the neckline of the dress. The break up of the texture in the middle of the skirt is also really effective. The belt again in this dress blends perfectly and creates shape. This dress also has a lot more shape to it than the first two fuller skirts, giving the dress a more hourglass appearance.
Hope you are all having a fabulous week.
